A solution developed by Consist enables ‘Clalit Health Services’ to invite vaccine recipients via SMS messages and the PB Digital digital forms system. So far, millions of SMS invitations have been sent and more than 2 million vaccine doses have been administered to Clalit members.

Consist, together with Clalit, developed in a short time a digital solution for the large-scale vaccination campaign against the coronavirus. The solution makes it possible to efficiently manage the campaign by receiving the vaccinated person’s details from Clalit’s systems, scheduling the appointment, and automatically generating personalized SMS invitations; since the campaign began, more than 2 million vaccine doses have been administered and millions of invitations have been sent via SMS generated by the system.

The large-scale vaccination campaign against the coronavirus at Clalit has been running at full strength for over a month, at Clalit’s vaccination centers as part of the “Back to Life” campaign. The campaign has been conducted very efficiently so far, thanks in part to the integration between Clalit’s organizational systems and the module developed by Consist, which captures the details coming from the organization’s appointment scheduling system and automatically generates an invitation SMS sent to the vaccine recipients.

The process of scheduling appointments for the coronavirus vaccines is quick and simple: Clalit members can book appointments for both vaccine doses through the organization’s website or its dedicated mobile app. After entering identification details, the appointment scheduling system sets the appointment according to the member’s place of residence, and then the information is passed to the SMS and digital forms module developed by Consist. It should be noted that some appointments are scheduled automatically by an appointment scheduling BOT. The SMS generated by the system contains the appointment details – the vaccine recipient’s name, date and location of the appointment, as well as a link to a digital form from the PB Digital system through which the vaccine recipient can confirm or postpone the appointment.

Yossi Shalom, Head of Development Division at Consist, said that Clalit, as the largest health organization in the country, provides services to millions of members. Accordingly, at Consist we developed a module capable of handling the heavy loads involved in this large-scale campaign. The module includes a unique interface for capturing appointment details from Clalit’s systems and for quickly and automatically creating a huge volume of personalized SMS messages containing the essential details so that the vaccine recipient receives the necessary information for the scheduled time and place.”

Shalom added that “the uniqueness of the solution lies both in its ability to handle the load of generating millions of SMS messages and in its ability to coordinate and cross-check the information coming from the field to prevent duplications. In addition, it is important to note that the solution also provides support for members belonging to the older population, who in many cases prefer to call a representative by phone instead of using the digital form to confirm or postpone the appointment. The solution we developed is capable of preventing duplications and wasted appointments by cross-referencing the information flowing into the system from different sources.”

Liora Shechter, Chief Information and Digital Officer at Clalit, stated that “We are currently managing one of the largest logistical operations of our generation, and within this framework we are committed to initiating and developing a fast and convenient digital service for Clalit’s customers.”

Ofer Shaked, CEO of Consist Systems, said that “The collaborations between Clalit and Consist, and the immediate and intensive national mission, are once again characterized by the highest professional level of all those involved. Along the way, we discovered a combination of shared values in both organizations, including professionalism, dedication, responsibility, fairness, and friendliness. Once again, we see that stable and proven software infrastructures, combined with technological innovation and creative thinking from outstanding people, create a common language and a successful path forward.”
