Clalit expands the digital meal menu system project developed by Consist

The digital menu solution, developed by Consist’s development division based on the PB Digital smart digital forms system, provides hospitalized patients with an advanced service experience and enables Clalit to significantly streamline catering processes while saving considerable resources.

Clalit, the largest healthcare organization in Israel, is in the midst of an accelerated digital transformation process and is currently expanding the implementation of the digital menu system that allows patients in the organization’s medical centers to pre-order lunch for the following day via inviting and user-friendly menu screens. The digital menus, developed and implemented by Consist, are currently being deployed in several hospitals across all departments.

The system sends patients a daily text message containing a link to designed digital menu screens, allowing them to choose from a variety of dishes – main courses, side dishes, desserts, and beverages. Once the patient completes the selection, the orders are recorded in the medical center’s information systems, which then transfer the order to the catering service. The system has been operating successfully at Soroka and Meir hospitals, at Carmel Medical Center in the maternity and pediatric wards, at Hasharon Medical Center in the internal medicine wards, and during 2023, three more hospitals will be computerized within the project.

Yossi Shalom, Head of the Development Division at Consist, said: “The digital menu system we developed together with Clalit not only significantly improves the patient experience but also greatly streamlines logistical processes in the catering system. A great deal of thought was invested in developing the system, with the goal of providing a solution that is both operationally functional and also user-friendly and easy to use. Clalit is one of the first organizations in Israel to implement such a digital menu system, and this clearly reflects the organization’s aspiration to provide its patients with the best possible service experience.”

Ofir Griner, Head of the PB Digital Division at Consist, said: “Consist has been accompanying Clalit in extensive digital transformation processes for several years, and the digital meal menu project joins many other projects, including the implementation of our digital forms system in various departments within the organization, including digital HR forms in the Human Resources department, customer forms in Clalit Mushlam, digital customer billing forms, and more. We thank Clalit for the privilege of being a partner in such a significant process in Israel’s largest and leading healthcare organization.”

Liora Shechter, Deputy CEO and Head of the Systems and Digital Division, said: “This is another advanced service that Clalit provides to its patients, this time in our hospitals. The service improves the patient experience and streamlines processes down to the catering level.”
