BSSCH – The Israel Foreign Trade Risks Insurance Corporation – is Israel’s leading credit insurer. Since its establishment in 1957, BSSCH has insured annual sales of over 60 billion NIS, both in foreign trade transactions and in the local market. The company insures credit in 140 countries, and among its policyholders are many of Israel’s leading corporations and their subsidiaries worldwide. BSSCH insurance provides exporters and suppliers with protection against non-payment of debts by their customers, thus constituting a central pillar of businesses’ financial security.
As part of its operations, BSSCH uses the PB Digital system for managing and producing digital documents – one of Consist’s longstanding systems. Recently, as part of a significant upgrade process, the system was integrated with IRIS, an innovative technology for distributing documents and notifications via digital channels. This combination has significantly improved the organization’s ability to produce, manage, and distribute documents efficiently, accurately, and quickly.
We spoke with Suzy Vardi – Project Manager and Head of Customer Mailing Operations – to hear about the system’s implementation and upgrade.
Suzy, what was the main goal in upgrading the PB Digital system?
The goal was to streamline the document production process and expand our distribution capabilities to customers. We wanted to upgrade the process of creating and distributing large volumes of complex PDF documents to send them accurately by email to clients. In addition, we needed a solution to minimize PDF file sizes so we could send them more easily to customers.
How did the integration with the IRIS digital document distribution system improve processes at BSSCH?
The integration with IRIS was a game-changer. The system allows us to distribute all types of documents – policies, contracts, agreements, and letters – quickly and accurately, mainly via email in our case. PB Digital generates the PDF files, automatically gathers recipient data from the core organizational systems, and IRIS customizes each document for each client and sends it accurately. Everything happens automatically, saving us a great deal of time and resources.
The new version also includes a major upgrade to the PDF generation engine. Can you explain?
One challenge was the size of PDF files. In our field, documents are complex and lengthy, and sometimes their size was very large, making it difficult to send them. The PDF generation engine in the new PB Digital version, developed at Consist, reduces file size by up to 50% without compromising quality. This greatly facilitates distribution and speeds up document delivery to customers.
What is the current scale of system usage?
We send about 10,000 documents every month – contracts, letters, policies, and more. The upgrade and integration with IRIS have greatly streamlined our work, and today we manage the entire production and distribution process automatically, with full monitoring at every stage.
Anything about working with the Consist system team?
The Consist team is very professional, always available, and attentive to every need. This comes as no surprise – the system has been working successfully with us for years. They accompanied us throughout the process, from specification to implementation, ensuring that the system was precisely adapted to our requirements. It’s a true partnership, and we’re very satisfied with the result.
